AI Big Data 2024 Announcement Social Card

Chat GPT, the online generative AI chatbot, was launched in November 2022. Just two months later it had become the fastest-growing consumer application in history with 100 million active users. By comparison, it took Facebook over four years to reach that mark. It is an example of how quickly Artificial Intelligence, until recently a relatively niche market, has entered our daily lives. With every new technology there is fear and scepticism, and with AI the doomsday headlines have been plentiful.

However, there are plenty of positives too. There is an argument that AI will take away our livelihood. Indeed, by 2025, AI is expected to eliminate 85 million jobs, but it is also expected to create 97 million new ones. By 2030 AI will contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy, and 72% of executives think AI will become the most significant business advantage in the future*

AI has got its capabilities faster than most of us expected and is impacting our lives in an increasing number of ways, but if AI is developed safely and ethically, and the regulation is strong, there is a general air of optimism for its future.

ITN Business’ news-style programme AI & Big Data: Empowering Tomorrow will explore the importance of ensuring responsible practices are in place, and the organisations using AI and big data as a force for good. Presenter Duncan Golestani will discuss key themes of the industry including:

•              Responsible and ethical use of AI

•              Cybersecurity

•              Health and wellbeing

•              Data monetisation and digital transformation

•              The augmented workforce

The programme will be premiered at TechEx Europe, 1st-2nd October, in Amsterdam and will feature films from thought leaders TechUK and the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Institutre, with more to be confirmed.

There are commercial opportunities for leading organisations to be featured in the programme and spearhead their own news item. If your organisation wants to share what you stand for and be part of this important conversation about AI and big data, please contact ITN Business’ Programming Directors Jamie Connolly at Jamie.Connolly@itn.co.uk and Isabella Sharp at Isabella.Sharp@itn.co.uk.
