Billi’s experience starts in 1996 with the creation of his first company that developed high-end clustered computer cooling systems and pioneers the development of low latency interconnection networks for commodity servers that can offer the performance of high-end supercomputers type equipment.
Between 2002 and 2011, Billi develops multidisciplinary successful projects like networked medical devices, programmable intelligent sensors networks, and FPGA-based datacenter acceleration in collaboration with Xilinx.Starting from 2008, he is one of the architects and executive director of HyperTransport Technology Consortium (HTC) in Sunnyvale CA.
He is the major inventor of the latest specification of HyperTransport technology, implemented in more than two millions of devices, from consumer electronics (e.g. Microsoft’s X-BOX), to networking and server platforms (CISCO, Cray, Dell, HP, and IBM).Between 2010 and 2018, Emilio Billi works as a strategic project consultant for the tier-one FPGA companies and chip makers Xilinx, Alera and Intel.
