Inês Ferreira is a Legal and Policy Research Fellow at the UNICRI Centre for AI and Robotics. Inês specializes in law with a focus on human rights and technology. For over 2 years, she has been contributing with her expertise to the Centre’s work on investigating the challenges and opportunities brought by artificial intelligence and other new and emerging technologies in the crime and justice settings. Here, she has been entrusted with the legal, human rights and ethics aspects of the Centre’s initiatives.  Inês is a qualified lawyer and has practiced litigation law for several years in Portugal, her home country. There, she also worked as an aid to the Portuguese government on matters related to policy and law-making. She holds a master’s degree (LL.M.) in Public International Law from Leiden University. Before joining UNICRI, she worked as a researcher on academic projects related to human rights, international criminal law and technology.
