Georgina is a Senior Advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. Georgina leads thought leadership for the Policy and Innovations team, bringing different disciplines and fresh thinking to a major structural challenge facing much of the global population: the impact of automation on the world’s poorest countries. Automation presents significant challenges to Africa’s economic transformation. With leading partners, Georgina is researching the trajectory and implications of automation across industries that have traditionally been development pathways for poor countries, and is considering the alternatives for economic development in this new world. She is also exploring with a blue-sky mindset what opportunities automation, AI and innovative approaches can bring to leapfrogging the many challenges facing Africa. Georgina was an advisor to the governments of Liberia and Sierra Leone with the Africa Governance Initiative (a TBI legacy organisation), and previously a management consultant. Georgina holds an MA from SOAS and BA from the University of Cambridge.
