Giselle is the Executive Director of DataKind UK – a charity that helps the social sector to increase its impact through the use of data science. DataKind UK supports charities, local government and social enterprises to use data science (for free). We run DataDive weekends focused on exploratory analysis and prototyping; and undertake ambitious DataCorps projects with nonprofits to deliver cutting-edge data science solutions. And for those needing lighter touch support, we have regular ‘Office Hours’ drop in sessions. All our projects are run by our volunteers – data scientists in industry, who give their time to help nonprofits change the world!
Giselle has worked for the UK Government, and for national charities and think tanks, using data to better inform public policy decisions. She has been a policy advisor at the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit (Cabinet Office, UK) and a senior research fellow at the Institute of Public Policy Research. She is trained in maths, physics, economics and computer science.
