Dave began his carrier in Information Technology in 1985 when he began developing accounting applications for small businesses. After several years, he shifted focus to system administration of Unix and Windows systems, then moved to implementations of enterprise applications like Oracle ERP and Clarify CRM for companies like Cisco Systems, Lifescan and Quantum. During this time, he became an Oracle DBA which rounded out his tactical IT experience and understood at a detailed level all aspects of modern IT infrastructure: systems and network administration, software development and database administration. Dave’s largest project to date was a data center design and build out for NetSuite.com where he was the first employee and CIO. He was asked to design and build a data center that would have a global reach and able to support 1,000,000 users. He successfully created a fully fault tolerant and scalable data center with worldwide reach which at that time was the largest Oracle, Linux NFS installation running on Intel-based PC’s. In 2006 Dave founded ENKI which was a high-touch IaaS. ENKI was eventually sold to Zayo Group where Dave took a position running DevOps for Zayo Cloud.
