Chris McDermott is Wallaroo’s VP of Platform Engineering. He worked as a technical consultant in Los Angeles before settling in Colorado in 2007. At AppliedTrust, Chris worked with a wide variety of clients along the front range, helping organizations like the US Geological Survey, the Children’s Hospital, and Jefferson County School District tackle tough challenges in security, Linux, performance, observability, and cloud management. In 2014 Chris joined SendGrid – a fast-growing Colorado-based startup – where he helped roll out best-in-class security practices and helped scale the technology as well as the technical operations organization, allowing SendGrid to reliably deliver billions of emails a day for customers including Uber, AirBnB, and Spotify. He spent the last 4 years at DataRobot focusing on cloud infrastructure and engineering management as they tripled in size and scale. Chris is passionate about leadership, technology, books, movies, and solving hard problems. He graduated from Brown University with a degree in Classics.
